The preschool program was developed by Iris Joyce Winner, a retired elementary school teacher, long time Alfalit volunteer, and board member. The preschool program prepares three to six-year-olds with the skills to begin elementary school, while encouraging parents to appreciate the value of education and instill values vital to national, community, and family life.
In some rural areas, because of a lack of access to government schools, the community has asked Alfalit to offer this service. Alfalit is proud to combat illiteracy at its point of origin in early childhood.
