They help organize volunteer teacher training, prepare program reports, collect pictures and testimonies from students and ensure that centers are well equipped with literacy books.

About Verushka:
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Verushka is a mother of two and studied General Communications at the University of Sagrado Corazon in Santurce, PR. She moved to South Florida in 2001 and is very passionate about the needs of others. She is very involved at her church, ARDE, where she serves with Reforma XXI, helping the homeless and children abroad in missionary trips. In addition to working with Alfalit International, Verushka enjoys growing her candle business “Be the Light Candlemaker.”

About Gradice:
Gradice Alexandre is a retired licensed elementary school teacher from Haiti, where she taught for 25 years. She studied Psychology at the State University of Haiti and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from the Christian University North of Haiti. She is a church planter and is the lead Pastor of Rock’s Horeb Baptist Church in Torcel/Tabarre, Haiti. Gradice established the Baptist Church of Michaud/Croix -des-Bouquets, and is in the process of planting two others. She served with love and dedication as Alfalit’s Project Director in Haiti for 13 years coordinating training sessions, providing didactic materials and more. Later, she served as a counselor at Haitian Evangelical Baptist Church in Miami where she counseled children age 4 – 15 years old during the after school program and summer camp. She is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Missiology.
